U. S. Congressman Bennie Thompson of the 2nd District is asking federal authorities for an investigation into the April 28th shooting at attorney Lee Abraham’s office in Greenwood, Mississippi. The shoot-out resulted in both suspects being shot, one fatally and one investigator with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office shot in the leg. Thompson said his office has received “numerous complaints” about the shooting and “I am confident that comprehensive review by these agencies will bring clarity to the citizens of the Mississippi Delta”.
Dr. Ralph Arnold Smith, Jr., and the surviving suspect are charged with capital murder and conspiracy to commit capital murder. Dr. Smith is being held without bond.
Lee Abraham represented Dr. Smith’s former spouse, Sara Smith, in a divorce proceeding in the 90’s and with subsequent modification. That divorce cause was sealed in 2005.
In a letter dated April 18, 2012, from Dr. Smith to Governor Phil Bryant, Smith claims, “Several virginal black females age 9 to 15 tell me they climbed into Lee’s black truck, innocently drank his cool aid, passed out, and awakened naked with wet sore bottoms, deflowered and then told they were “working for Lee now”. They prostituted under the threat of death or severe physical retribution.” Smith goes on to say that he has evidence on Lee Abraham and President Obama that, “is so obscene I believe it will influence the presidential election”.
